The videos below are a small sample of videos I've used in worship. Here are some other ideas to spark your creativity around using short-form videos in worship.

This video was created for the Church Council at Church of the Good Shepherd in Albuquerque as a fun way to talk to about membership, money, and the importance of giving to the General Fund instead of specific ministries. It also reminded people that membership is about more than money! I used a green screen and a free make-your-own-jeopardy board website to create the background. The PDF transcript is included directly below.
The part where I preach with Shawn begins at minute 3:40.
Shawn Dromgoole is a Black Pentecostal Bible teacher and preacher who lives in Nashville, Tennessee. Thanks to the use of video and a screen in worship, Shawn was able to preach the Easter sermon with me!
How might you enrich a sermon or presentation at your church with a video? How might you lift up the voices of people who otherwise might not be heard in your congregation's worship services?
I accomplished this sermon's effect by using a Keynote presentation. Each slide had a short clip of Shawn on it that I played using a remote. The same effect could be done by having someone press play and pause on a computer.
To create this sermon, Shawn and I spoke on the phone. I took notes and wrote a script based on our conversation. Shawn then approved the script and recorded lines from his living room. The sermon we produced turned out to be more of a Good Friday sermon than an Easter Sunday sermon, so with Shawn's blessing, I added additional commentary around Shawn's recorded parts to adapt the sermon for Easter. Shawn approved the final cut.
The video is an edited clip that does not include my introduction, where I discussed the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services at the church in more detail. The full Easter service, including the sermon, is available here. The PDF transcript of the included video clip is below.
